Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

Your adventure begins with a scenic drive south to Kibale Forest National Park, famously known as the Primate Capital of the World, boasting 13 species of primates. The highlight, of course, is the chimpanzee, with large, active troops thriving in this lush rainforest.

You’ll stop for lunch along the way before continuing to your lodge nestled in the jungle. After the journey, you can either unwind and soak in the tranquil atmosphere at the lodge or opt for a guided community walk to stretch your legs and experience local culture.

Day 2 - Wake up early and embark on a day hike

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking & Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Start your day with a hearty breakfast before heading to the park headquarters for a chimpanzee trekking briefing. You’ll be assigned an experienced ranger guide who will lead you deep into Kibale Forest in search of wild chimpanzees. This thrilling trek offers an incredible chance to observe these intelligent primates in their natural environment—watching them swing through the trees, forage for food, and interact socially is an unforgettable experience.

After the trek, you’ll begin your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s most diverse wildlife destination. Upon arrival, check in at your lodge and enjoy a well-deserved lunch.

In the afternoon, set off on a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel, a natural waterway connecting Lake Edward and Lake George. This channel is famous for its high concentration of hippos and offers fantastic views of elephants, buffaloes, crocodiles, and a vibrant variety of birds like African fish eagles and kingfishers.

Wrap up your day with a sunset game drive, spotting iconic African wildlife before returning to the lodge for dinner and a peaceful overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via the Ishasha Sector

After a relaxed breakfast, you’ll set off for the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park—Ishasha, a region renowned for its rare and iconic tree-climbing lions. With a 60–70% chance of spotting them lounging high in fig trees, the experience is a wildlife photographer’s dream. Even if they’re not up in the trees, there’s still a chance to catch them prowling the savannah in search of prey.

Following your game drive in Ishasha, you’ll continue the journey through the scenic Kigezi Highlands, often referred to as the “Switzerland of Africa” for their rolling hills, terraced farmlands, and breathtaking views.

By evening, you’ll arrive at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Check into your lodge, enjoy a warm dinner, and rest up for the thrilling gorilla trek awaiting you tomorrow.

Day 4: Mountain Gorilla Trekking & Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Start the day with an early breakfast before heading to the ranger station for a pre-trek briefing. Here, you’ll be guided on the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking, preparing you for one of the most extraordinary wildlife experiences on Earth.

You’ll then venture into the dense, mystical Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. This ancient rainforest is incredibly lush and dramatic, with steep slopes, thick undergrowth, and a chorus of bird calls echoing through the trees. Following animal trails, you’ll trek in search of a habituated mountain gorilla group—the time and terrain required can vary depending on their movements.

Once located, you’ll spend one magical hour in their presence, observing their social interactions, playful young, and powerful silverbacks. It’s a profoundly humbling experience and one that leaves a lasting impression.

After your trek, you’ll transfer to the serene Lake Bunyonyi, one of Africa’s most beautiful lakes, surrounded by terraced hills and dotted with 29 small islands. Check in at the BirdNest Resort, where you’ll enjoy a well-earned dinner and a peaceful overnight stay by the lakeside.

Day 5: Transfer Back to Entebbe – End of Safari

Day 5: Transfer Back to Entebbe – End of Safari

Enjoy a relaxed morning and a leisurely breakfast with sweeping views over the tranquil waters of Lake Bunyonyi. Take a few final photos or simply soak in the serenity before starting your journey back to Entebbe.

The drive will take you through the beautiful Ugandan countryside with scenic views, traditional villages, and rolling hills. You’ll make stopovers along the way, including a lunch break on Masaka Road, before continuing towards the city.

You’ll arrive in Entebbe in the evening, where you’ll be dropped off at the airport for your departure flight. This marks the end of your incredible 5-day safari adventure—a journey filled with unforgettable wildlife encounters, awe-inspiring landscapes, and authentic Ugandan experiences.
